Always a do-it-myself kind of gal, I have an endless desire to surround myself with beautiful, stylish, and lovingly handcrafted objects. The result? Homespun meets haute couture. I believe something you made yourself is twice as enjoyable as something you bought. It's the pride and empowerment that comes in being able to say, "Thanks, I made it!"
Thanks, I Made It began as an outlet for my expression of creative style when, my first year teaching, I realized I didn't have to let my students have all the crafty fun. Here you'll find do-it-yourself projects that range from the super simple to more complex, while learning crafty skills and how to get designer looks with less money and more personality. I also love to share my inspirations for DIYs and roundups of other talented makers' work. Thanks, I Made It has been featured both online and in print media outlets such as Glamour Magazine, The Zoe Report, Guest of a Guest, and Cloth Magazine.
About me: I'm Erin, a teacher in Washington, DC originally from Ohio, by way of New York. I don't like to eat eggs or bananas, I have three younger sisters, and I love puzzles and mysteries. Rolling Stones over Beatles (but I love them both).
