Like I mentioned Monday, I found the right materials to recreate the Gemma Redux earrings (let's call them trapeze for lack of a better name!) for a fraction of the price. Assuming you have the basic supplies (eye pins, ear wires, and jump rings) on hand, the more special pieces like the links and beads will set you back only $7 compared to the $150+ price tag of the real version. Details after the jump!
Tools and materials:
2 ear wires
2 jump rings
4 gold bar links
Stone fan pendant/stick beads (I used lapis jasper but there are so many beautiful varieties to choose from!)
2 eye pins (head pins pictured here because I made my own eye pins but am sparing you of that!)
Slide three of the smaller beads onto the eye pin. To make a loop at the other end of the pin, fold the wire at a 90 degree angle with the chain nose pliers, then clip the wire so there is about 1 cm of wire left. Using the needle nose pliers, curl the wire onto itself forming a loop.
