DIY Jeweled Cord Bracelet

This post is going to be the start of several copycat tutorials. I really need to curb my online window shopping, because now I have many, many more DIY projects inspired by accessories I've found online. Luckily for me, I can hide all my ideas in my secret Pinterest board to keep the element of surprise-- I love that they added that feature!

Anyway, to start things off, I made this DIY jeweled cord bracelet bracelet using this piece of arm candy as an inspiration point. I went with classic black and silver, but let your imagination run wild when it comes to color combinations.

Tools and materials:
Black cord long enough to go around your wrist
Sew-on jewels (my crystal ones are these and my black square ones are available here)
2 cord end caps
Jump rings and clasp (and extender chain, optional)
Jewelry pliers
Needle and thread
Super glue and toothpick for applying the glue

Thread your needle and securely sew it to the cord. I started in the middle to make sure I evenly spaced my jewels.

Begin sewing on the crystals, going through the cord and holes in the sew-on jewels.

Add all the jewels. I alternated colors, but tried to change up the positioning.

Place glue in the end caps and attach the cord. Allow to dry, then use pliers to add the jump rings and clasp.

That's it! Happy making! I'd love to know if you try this one.

  1. Oh that so clever! Why haven't i thought of that? (then i wouldn't probably follow you and that would be sad)

  2. It looks exactly like the other one!!! Very good job I loved it!! :D

  3. Love how easy this is to make (and customize from the cord color to the sew on crystals) and I posted the bottom photo on truebluemeandyou, a long with the inspiration piece.

  4. So cute and easy, Erin. I love the endless color combo options to choose from, it can be customized so many different ways. Great job!

  5. It's so pretty! Where do you get your cord from?

    1. found it in the trimming/upholstery section of the craft store. got a whole spool for a couple of bucks!

  6. Erin, what a cute bracelet! I could see this working with buttons, too -- I've got a surplus of those. :)

    1. Thank you S! And yes, buttons would be a lot of fun too!

  7. These are beautiful Erin! If I make it just a little longer, it would work as a necklace or a double wrap bracelet :)

    1. Love those ideas! Thanks so much1

  8. Love love love this DIY! Definitely need to try it out!
