Are you ready to deck the halls? In spirit of the season, I've decided to do a Friday feature for the next few weeks rounding up some of my favorite inspiration and tutorials for the holidays. I'm kicking things off with fun DIY Christmas tree alternatives-- I'm definitely going to have to get creative with a "tree" in my tiny apartment! (Ps- more ideas on Pinterest!)

DIY Vintage Chandelier Crystal Necklace

On my last visit at my favorite vintage and second-hand furniture store in my neighborhood, they had a dish brimming with chandelier crystals. It was as tempting as a bowl full of candy, so I scooped up a handful. This pendant is an easy and elegant way to showcase the vintage crystal. If you don't have any spare chandeliers lying around, I have seen similar shaped glass and acrylic crystals at the craft store.

DIY Inspiration: Embellished Beanies

I posted recently about a totally DIY-able embellished beanie snapped by the Sartorialist (for a tutorial, check out Make My Lemonade), but I saw these photos of House of Holland's S/S13 show and can't get enough of their embellished beanies. While they look like they're made of raffia, a material that seems more summery, the idea is still the same. Grab a beanie, stitch on some jewels, and sparkle all winter long. (P.S.-- Peep the matching belt in the first photo-- bonus idea!)

Bloglove: November

For those who celebrated Thanksgiving, I hope you had a happy holiday! I am thankful for many things, but most importantly to Thanks, I Made It, I'm thankful for all of you, who keep coming back for crafty fun. Here's a small smattering of blogs that have caught my eye lately. If you're ever craving more DIY ideas, be sure to follow my ever-growing project board on Pinterest!
Sugar & Cloth is my latest creative crush. I'm floored by what she makes with hardware store items!

You may know A Merry Mishap from her pretty clay jewelry, but the blog is lovely too, with great projects for the home.

From gorgeous home projects to accessories, I love everything from this Mecca of design.

DIY Snake Bead Bracelet

One of my favorite forms of procrastination is online window shopping for DIY inspiration. Great for getting crafty, not so great for working on my term papers. I love this Vanessa Mooney bracelet-- and had snake beads leftover from many other previous projects (like this necklace). Using some other odds and ends I had on hand, I created my own snake bead bracelet. It took all of 10 minutes to make, and so I had to whip up a few more for gifts.

Inspiration: Embellished Shoulders

Give your sweaters a facelift with some embellishment on the shoulders! These look so pretty I'd hate to cover them up with a jacket.

DIY Mixed Midori Ribbon and Bead Necklace

Before you start wrapping up gifts in pretty ribbon for the upcoming season, why not wrap up something special for yourself? Using Midori ribbon, chain, and a few large beads, I concocted a mixed material necklace that would make a lovely gift for yourself or someone else. No fancy skills required!

DIY Inspiration: Succulent Planters

Never one for plants before, these days I'm hunting down succulents. I hear they are hardy-- perfect for my poor gardening skills. Internet search yielded a virtual visit to the Republic of Succulents, where I found several adorable ideas for planting and displaying succulents. Check them out!

Don't these shirts make you want to run out and buy some iron-on letters? (Psst: Lia has a great tutorial on how-to use them)

DIY Jeweled Triangle Necklace

Looking back over my jewelry Pinterest board after a bout of rampant pinning, I noticed two similar and equally gorgeous crystal triangle breastplate-style necklaces from Juicy Couture and Sandy Hyun. I just had to make my own!

DIY 3 Ways: Embroidered Mail Sorter

Just a little round up, featuring my own quick creation too. Sometimes I really enjoy putting my own spin on other people's creative ideas, like the cross-stitch and embroidered mail sorter DIYs from these two other crafters.

Love the zig-zags on this one from Camille Styles...

...and the bright triangles from Small Good Things.

And my version!
