DIY Inspiration: Crochet Denim Shorts

What a weekend! I had a wonderful birthday, with biking around Governor's Island, eating a delicious "Frenchican" dinner, and sharing tasty drinks with dear friends (thanks for celebrating with me, ladies!). Not too much happened by way of crafting, but I'll have a project for you later this week.

In the mean time, I wanted to share some inspiration. My sister told me she was in the mood for crochet denim shorts, and I thought this pair from Topshop would fit the bill and be a good DIY. Perhaps a doily or crocheted table runner from the thrift store or the family's cast-off pile with some careful cutting and hand-sewing?

  1. I love these!! Pixie Market has a good variety of shorts that lend themselves to DIY right now, one kind of like these, another with a bit of leather and fringe. Yaaaay cutoffs season!!

  3. Happy belated BD! Are you going to hit Governor's Island again this w/e? They are having the (FREE!) Figment NYC fest which is just a diy'ers paradise. :)
