I love little (or big) touches that update what already hangs in your closet. Try these tricks for adding some oomph to your winter basics, and proudly wear that DIY heart on your sleeve.
1. Roberto Cavalli: Add appliques to the shoulders for DIY epaulets.
2. J.Crew: Cut out a heart shape from felt or fabric and sew/glue to a sweater
3. Burberry Prorsum: Sew trim around the collar and hand-bead shoulders.
4. Joseph: Make a color-blocked Frankenstein by chopping up and sewing back together old sweaters.
Update: The same day I posted this, I found the J.Crew sweater DIY'd over at Ali's blog, with an i.e. Check it out, and thanks Maria at Livlig for the heads up!
I love your inspiration pieces! I applique lace on cardigans for my mum - she LOVES them - it really elevates a normal sweater, and saves you from having to buy something new! I just purchased the materials to update/adorn some plain old button-down shifts yesterday!
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see what you do with this inspiration!
