Inspiration: Pyrite

I will be the first to admit I'm getting a bit carried away with geology-themed crafting. I didn't even take rocks for jocks in college. I just can't help myself!

The look of pyrite, or fool's gold, is rough-hewn and rustic, kind of like if you struck it rich out west during the gold rush. It reminds me of when we went to a recreated mining town in Australia last year (Ballarat, for any Aussie readers!) and panned for gold flakes.

While I didn't find enough gold to make much of anything, lucky for you and me, I also found some nifty rock beads at Michael's that look like pyrite. I'll show you what I made with them tomorrow!

P.S.- Don't forget to comment on your favorite jewelry storage pic on Bauble Bar's Facebook album! Yours truly is in the running with plenty of DIY action.
