A long way to the top, part une

www.jamesmaherphotography.com

This project has been a long time in the making.  Earlier this summer, I was at the rooftop bar where B was working, when after a Tom Collins (or two) I look over to the Chrysler Building and got a sudden jolt of inspiration. I was attracted to the way the crescent shapes nestle together, and thought the effect would look interesting upside down. I felt like I was in a Project Runway challenge and Tim Gunn told me I needed to draw my inspiration from the city. Let's make it work! Here's my initial sketch.

Later perusal of Style.com's accessories index yielded some more ideas:

After seeing this Dismount Creative post, I knew I didn't have to have fancy metal working tools to make this idea DIY-able.

You'll have to wait for part deux coming later this weekend for the how-to and end product!
